Can we use RHD side mirror to replace LHD?

Hello! It's my first time posting here and I just joined because my parents need help and I don't really know where to check.

They drive a 2005 IS 200, but my mom got into a minor accident where she damaged the right-hand side mirror assembly. We need a replacement for the housing and motor components but we're having a hard time looking for one. I have a cousin who lives in the UK who said she found one for the same year model which she can ship to us or bring home on her next visit. Except, we're not sure if it will fit since the UK has right-hand drive cars.

I don't know if I'm explaining our concern thoroughly but I hope someone can give me tips and insights. If that idea won't work, would you know where we can source a replacement here in the US and if we should only focus on looking for a mirror assembly that's only from the same year model?

RHD (UK) and LHD (US) side mirrors usually don't swap because their angles and mounts are different. It might fit but the mirror might not adjust right.

Look for a U.S.-spec 2001–2005 IS300/IS200 mirror. Try salvage yards, eBay or LexusPartsNow. Knowing the part number from your old mirror would really speed things up.

Hey welcome!! Anyway, a UK part might not fit properly since their cars are right-hand drive and mirror assemblies can differ. Its usually best to look for a US-spec mirror from the same year or a mroe compatible range. Check local junkyards, online sites like eBay or car part stores, its a bit of a challenge but... good luck and happy hunting!

It might fit physically, but UK-spec side mirrors are angled for right-hand drive, so visibility could be way off and even illegal here, it might save more hassle just sourcing one stateside
