2017 Lexus IS console panel question

I'm checking out a 2017 IS, and I can't help but notice the GPS control panel looks different depending on the model, some are all flush, while others are kind of recessed. It got me thinking, is there any chance that panel can be swapped out or removed to create a little more space for my phone? I'd love to hear any thoughts or experiences you all might have on this

What if you removed the panel altogether and replaced it with a custom mount or phone holder?, I've seen this idea dropped somewhere, although I dont suppose it'd be easy tho

Yeah, some of those panels can be swapped, but it depends on the trim and the head unit
