Currently looking at a 2010 Lexus IS 250 with only around 40k miles on it and looks like its in really good shape. The catch though, it's been sitting in their garage and idle for a bit over two years. Now, I'd appreciate any advice on what to inspect first or watch out for if ever I decide on buying it or whether I should even consider buying it.

hi @donperignon13 that IS 250 has low miles! but, the fact that it's been sitting for two years is the big catch, though. you know, when a car sits that long, fluids and rubber components are your main concern.
you need to plan on immediately replacing all fluids, like engine oil, brake fluid, coolant, power steering fluid, and transmission fluid. Old, stagnant fluids can cause issues

That has super low mileage! And yep, agree with @MyBuffet but if I may add, also inspect for rodent damage and make sure the brakes aren't seized. If it starts and runs smooth, it could be a great find!

Honestly, low miles don't mean much if it's been sitting for two years, dry rot, varnished fuel, brittle gaskets… sometimes a garage queen turns out to be a mechanical headache dressed up as a deal

@Action! You nailed it. I've seen too many "low-mileage gems" turn into money pits from sitting too long... The stuff dries out and fails fast once it's running again.

@WaketimeStories90 Definitely check for critter nests and chewed wires.
