Keeping stock stereo best way to add an amp to IS300?

I'm thinking about adding an aftermarket amplifier to my 2003 Lexus IS300 to enhance the sound quality. But I want to keep the original factory stereo and speakers since they actually sound pretty decent to me. I'm not looking to do a complete system overhaul or spend a lot of money. Does anyone have insights on whether it's better to take the audio signal from the stock amp or directly from the head unit? Any tips on how to wire it up without messing with the original setup would be really helpful

I had a similar setup in my old car. If you're sticking with the factory head unit and speakers, your best option is to connect to the stock amp's signal. It's way cleaner and simpler than trying to fiddle with the head unit. Some people even add RCA outputs directly from the amp board.
